Place Hold Form

This is the Place Hold form in the old staff catalog. Be sure to enter the patron’s barcode except in the rare occasions when you you’re placing the hold for the staff user. There’s a Patron Search button if you need to look up the barcode. Check the hold pickup location and notification options, and, if the patrons wishes, you can use the option to Suspend This Hold. A suspended hold will retain its position in the hold queue, advancing as holds are filled for other patrons, but the system won’t fill the hold until it reaches its (optional) Activation Date, or until the patron turns off the suspension.

Accept Other Formats and Editions

Selecting the green Accept Other Formats and Editions button shows a list of physical formats and languages in the catalog, allowing the patron to expand or change the limits of what they will accept to fill the hold. In this example, there may be multiple editions of the book, as well as other formats, like CD Audiobook and Large Print Book. If the patron is willing to accept any book or CD Audiobook edition, but not a Large Print Book, they can uncheck Large Print Book.
