You can go to Patron Registration from the link on the splash page or by choosing the Register Patron option from the Circulation menu.
At the top of the registration screen there are three options for which fields to show — by default, this is set to Suggested Fields, but you can also just show the Required Fields, or show All Fields. (Red arrow on the screenshot.)
Required fields are marked with a yellow background.
When you complete the form, click on the Save Patron button.
Fields of the Patron Record
Barcode | Scan or enter the barcode from the library card |
OPAC/Staff Client User Name | This is the user name that patrons can use to log in to their account. By default, it is set to match the barcode. |
Password | You can assign a generate or assign a password |
Primary Name/Preferred Name | Enter the patron’s legal name. If the patron also has a preferred name, use Preferred Name for the name elements that differ from the primary name. Patron Names |
Name Keywords | Enter any name elements that are not part of the patron’s current primary or preferred names, for example, a former last name |

Home Library | Home Library should match the community of residence for public patrons and community borrowers, and the institution for academic patrons affiliated with your institution. For patrons who live in Massachusetts communities outside NOBLE, set the Home Library to MASS. For patrons who live in communities outside Massachusetts, set the Home Library to OUTSIDE MASS. |
Main (Profile) Permission Group | Choose from dropdown, for example, Public Patron |

Address
By default, there’s one patron address and it is marked as both the Mailing and Physical address. At the bottom of the address area, there is a button to add a second address, in which case one should be made the mailing address and the other the physical address.
